so i'm going back to jtown tomorrow morning.
everything's pretty much arranged. stuff has been bought and placed in places where it will be conveniently found when packing tonight. money has changed hands. (less was given by the generous folk in israel this time, but it's still something.) goodbyes have been said, promises to blog have been made.
meanwhile, feelings are about the same as last year around this time. i even bought travel insurance in case i decide to cancel my flight and get a full refund. i doubt any flights will be cancelled, though, since if it works like last year then my current dread and melancholy will turn into youthful joy and whatnot once i'm off the plane and unpacked. unless of course my passport remains awol.
i'm going with cas and our mutual friends larissa and paul. none of us are taking the same course, so our departure dates don't line up. hopefully we will at least have the same apartment. i'm taking modern hebrew (they don't offer intermediate biblical hebrew in the summer). cas is taking a psychology course in trauma and resilience, dealing with holocaust survivors. neither of us had full-time jobs this summer.
i forget which pictures you did or did not see, but here is a literal pile of kippehs.
